Downtown Mount Olive is the place to be on Friday evening, April 28! Here’s what you need to know about three great events – a live concert by Dakota Blue, the Cuke Patch 5k Glow Run, and Pay One Price Carnival Rides, all downtown:

Presented by Ribeyes Steakhouse and Katie Country 97.7

7-10 p.m.

Enjoy the sounds of Dakota Blue, an American Country/Rock band that is sure to liven the night! Dakota Blue features a mix of original and cover music. Admission is free. Take advantage of Ribeyes beer garden on the patio. In case of rain, the concert will be moved indoors at Ribeyes.

Cuke Patch 5K Glow Run

Sponsored by Sleep Inn & Suites of Mount Olive and Wayne UNC Health Care 

7-9 p.m.

A new twist on a festival favorite! Registration opens at 7:30 on North Center Street near Ribeyes, and the run starts at 8 p.m.

Wear your best running costumes and bring your friends! Prizes awarded for best individual male and female costume, and for best team, as well as for best male and female finishes in each age category. Costumes should reflect the spirit of the N.C. Pickle Festival. Glow sticks and other fun materials will be provided. Hurry! Register before April 1 for the early bird rate and to guarantee a Cuke Patch shirt on run night.

Pay One Price Carnival Rides

5-9 p.m.

Ride all the Brinkley Entertainment rides you want for one price at the corner of West Main and Chestnut Streets. Wristbands are $12. Concessions will be provided by Tri-County Electric Membership Corporation to support its scholarship program.

Friends of Steele Library Annual Book Sale

4-8 p.m.

Always a festival favorite, browse through the Friends’ annual book sale in their warehouse behind Steele Memorial Library, located at the corner of West Main and Chestnut Streets. If you miss it on Friday, the sale goes on from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
