Southeast Tourism Society Selects North Carolina Pickle Festival as an ‘STS Top 20 Event’

Southeast Tourism Society has named the North Carolina Pickle Festival as one of the STS Top 20 Events in the Southeast for April 2018. This is the first time that the North Carolina Pickle Festival has received this recognition.

This year’s 32nd annual North Carolina Pickle Festival will be held on Saturday, April 28 in downtown Mount Olive.

The North Carolina Pickle Festival is a family-friendly event that celebrates the role of agriculture in Mount Olive, and the free event attracts 40,000 visitors to Mount Olive’s historic downtown. Mount Olive is the home of Mt. Olive Pickle Company, and the festival celebrates the dill-lightful relationship between town and company.

Pickle Derby

Attendees enjoy a variety of pickle-themed events, including a pickle eating contest, the pickle packing production challenge, a pickle derby, pickle flavored foods, the pickle treasure hunt, FREE Mt. Olive Pickles, as well as the Tour de Pickle bike ride and 5K Cuke Patch Glow Run.

Mascot RaceIn addition, the festival features more traditional events and displays, including classic cars, vintage tractors, three stages of entertainment, carnival rides, the University of Mount Olive’s Artisan Village, the Got To Be NC Pavilion, inflatables, children’s activities, clowns, magicians, and a student pickle art contest.

Free Pickles
